Pictures of my guy

These pictures are of Ben in the last week or so. So it's Mr. Wonderful at around 13 months. Looking pretty grown up too, if Momma does say so herself. He's even starting to mimic words- walks around with food saying 'yumyumyumyum...' Darn little cutie. :)

it took 6 months

I am currently in the 6th month of baby part deux. And we have crossed the line into officially 'feeling' pregnant. Yes, I can hear you laughing from your laptop even now, but I advise against it, never know what the preggo hormones are capable of. :) Until now it had been a funky flu & a recommended trip to the fat farm. But the tide has turned. It's hard to tie my shoes, I'm out of breath carrying Ben upstairs, ok- I'm out of breath doing most anything, let's be honest- these sorts of little things that say, slow down girl, you're growing a person in there. I've gone through my first round of early preggo clothes, no more cute little banded jeans for me it's fully belly panels now. Gosh I'm sick of preggo clothes. The good news is the little one has become more squirmy & Guy even felt her kick the other day. Which was fun. Off to see the doctor tomorrow, so we'll see how it's going. blessings...

big year

Well, my boy has turned one. The big first year is under our belts & the notch is marked accordingly. We had a great little party for him with family, all of Guy's & my Mom flew down from Ohio. In true toddler fashion, he napped through the middle of it. Yup, right after lunch & before we could get to cake & presents he went down for, not a quickie mind you, but an hour and a half nap! Ah well, we all just visited which is what we would have done anyway. Yes, that's me looking as pregnant as my nine month along sister in law. Ah well. Last preggo go round & this factory's done. But back to the party... fun toys, yummy cake, lots of fun- a success any way you look at it.

I think I would be sitting here grieving his passing of infanthood a bit more if the next round of babyland weren't quite so imminent. According to the incredibly noncommital sonographer it "might be a girl", which is good to know, cause I was thinking it may be puppies. ?!?! "Might be a girl", well thanks, I kinda knew it "might" be a girl walking in the door, being a 50/50 chance and all. But oh well. We'll be back in Oct for another, most likely noncommital, ultrasound so we should have a clearer picture then. And we're back to the name game, altough alot of the ones from Ben's go round are still floating out there. Until Oct though it's been hard to get going on that since we might have to chuck it and start looking again at the 'Ethan's, Jackson's and 'Micah's again. Goodness knows, we've got 'team blue' down at this point, having passed our mighty 1 year mark! :)

Ok, speaking of my litte 'team blue' he's finally asleep (thank you guy) and so I should be too.

Peas! Today we went where many babies have gone before, but a first for Ben Dana- we envisioned whirled peas! Peas up the nose, on the chin, on the highchair- even on me, and with some luck some peas may have actually been eaten by his royal heinny. It was our first adventure in vegetables. Cereals had been had up until now, rice & oatmeal respsectively. And although they went along well enough, peas we had fun with. I will get a picture up when I can, but my computer is being difficult. So, peas for 2 more days then on to the wild crazy world of green beans! Stay on the edge of your seats folks, we'll keep you posted.

Febuary Begins

Well, in my home state it's still winter, at least through Easter. But here in Texas (the friendly state) there are daffodils blooming and flowering trees spreading their colorful arms. walmart is already sectioning off the garden section of the parking lot. It's my favorite time of year in Texas. As the Indigo Girls have said, "There's something about the south-land in the springtime..." And it's true. I love spring, I love that here it comes early. I get to start to plan out my gardens. This year I'm going to try to conquor the final section of the front flower beds. Last year as I was 'great with child' I couldn't bend over long enough to do all I wanted to do. So with Ben now able to sit up and play somewhat independently, we plan to have a lovely spring in the front yard. So spring come forth quickly!
